Laser eye operations

Statistics show that laser eye operations produce excellent results: in 60% of patients remain defect to 0.25 diopters, in 30% of patients maintained up to 1 diopter defect, 10% - slightly more than 1 diopter. The result is long-lasting operation - remains until old age. The study also confirms low risk associated with these activities - about 1%, in good clinics, it falls to the per mille. Possible complications include postoperative infections, transient symptoms of "dry eye". The effect of treatment largely depends on the ability of healing of the eye.

Regardless of the technique of execution, the treatment itself usually lasts a short time (in minutes) and is performed on an outpatient basis. People suffering from cataract, glaucoma, inflammatory eye disease, with progressive visual defect, receiving steroids, with pacemakers, pregnant and lactating women can’t be treated. The contraindication is also for people younger than 21 years (no eye disease stabilization). Laser vision correction procedures are not that expensive, for example EPI-LASIK costs three thousand PLN.

laser vision correction abroad

Laser vision nowhere in the world of public health services are not reimbursed for these operations, treating them as cosmetic surgery, even if the visual defect prevents normal functioning of the patient, and other means of correction are unsuccessful.

Deciding on the correction, we calculate the cost, consider the advantages and disadvantages of each method and find a reputable medium in which such operations are carried out - necessarily with adequate equipment and experienced surgeon.
